Please read these terms & conditions before entering into our competitions.

1. Definitions
1.1 For the purposes of these Terms & Conditions (“the Terms”):
“Company” means Magpie Competitions. “Competition” means any prize draw operated by the Company. “Participant” means any person entering a Competition. “Entry” means a valid purchase or free postal entry granting participation in a Competition. “Winner” means the Participant selected by the random number generator (“RNG”). “Website” means magpiecomps.co.uk and all associated pages. “Prize” means the item, experience, or credit awarded to the Winner. “Draw Date” means the scheduled date on which the Winner is selected. “Identification” means passport or driving licence used for verification. “Underage Person” means any individual under eighteen (18) years of age.
2. Acceptance of Terms
2.1 By entering any Competition, Participants agree to be bound by these Terms;
2.2 The Company reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time;
2.3 Continued participation constitutes acceptance of any updated Terms.
3. Eligibility
3.1 Competitions are open only to individuals aged eighteen (18) or over;
3.2 Participants must reside within the United Kingdom unless otherwise stated;
3.3 Employees of the Company, agents, or suppliers involved in Competition administration are prohibited from entering;
3.4 Underage entries are void and will result in disqualification.
4. Entry Requirements
4.1 Participants may enter Competitions by: (a) purchasing Entries through the Website; or (b) submitting a valid free postal entry in accordance with Section 5;
4.2 Entries are only valid once payment is successfully processed or a compliant postal entry is received;
4.3 The Company is not responsible for incomplete, failed, or lost entries;
4.4 Entries cannot be transferred, cancelled, or refunded except as set out in Section 17.
5. Free Postal Entry Route
5.1 Participants may enter Competitions for free by submitting a postal entry to this address: Magpie Competitions Office 1, Izabella House, 24–26 Regent Place, Birmingham, B1 3NJ
5.2 Participants must create an account with the Company prior to entering via the postal route, and account details must match the details provided on the postal entry;
5.3 Postal entries must include: (a) full name; (b) postal address; (c) email address; (d) telephone number; (e) the specific Competition being entered; (f) the statement: “I would like to enter this competition via the free postal route”;
5.4 Postal entries must be handwritten on a postcard or on the back of a sealed envelope;
5.5 Entries placed inside an envelope will not be accepted;
5.6 Only one entry may be submitted per postcard or per envelope;
5.7 Postal entries must be sent to the Company’s registered address;
5.8 Postal entries must arrive before the Competition closes;
5.9 Entries with insufficient postage will not be accepted;
5.10 Illegible, incomplete, incorrect, or late postal entries will be void;
5.11 The Company is not responsible for lost, delayed, or disrupted mail services;
5.12 Bulk postal entries are not accepted;
5.13 Postal entries are treated exactly the same as paid entries;
6. Competition Mechanics
6.1 Each Competition will specify: (a) prize description; (b) entry price; (c) draw date; (d) entry limit;
6.2 The Company reserves the right to extend or adjust draw dates where necessary;
6.3 The Company may cancel a Competition under exceptional circumstances (see Section 17).
7. Random Draw Process
7.1 All draws are conducted using a trusted RNG;
7.2 The RNG output determines the provisional Winner;
7.3 All eligible Entries have an equal chance of being selected;
7.4 Draws will not be influenced by staff, Participants, or external parties;
7.5 If the RNG selects an invalid or voided Entry, the draw will be repeated.
7.6 All prize draws are conducted in accordance with the laws of chance. Magpie Competitions uses a randomised selection process to ensure fairness and that every valid entry has an equal chance of winning.
8. Winner Selection
8.1 The provisional Winner is the Participant whose Entry number matches the RNG output;
8.2 The provisional Winner must satisfy all eligibility requirements;
8.3 The Company will contact the provisional Winner using the details provided at checkout or via postal entry;
8.4 If the provisional Winner cannot be contacted within a reasonable timeframe, the Company may conduct a redraw.
9. Winner Verification
9.1 The Company may request Identification under risk‑based criteria;
9.2 Accepted Identification documents are: (a) passport; (b) driving licence;
9.3 Identification must confirm: (a) age; (b) identity; (c) eligibility;
9.4 Failure to provide Identification when required will result in disqualification;
9.5 Underage winners will be disqualified and a redraw conducted.
10. Prize Fulfilment
10.1 Prizes will be delivered or arranged once verification is complete;
10.2 Delivery times may vary depending on supplier availability;
10.3 Where direct fulfilment is required, the Winner must consent to sharing delivery details with third‑party suppliers;
10.4 Prizes are non‑transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash unless explicitly stated.
11. Account Rules
11.1 Participants must provide accurate information when creating accounts or entering Competitions;
11.2 The Company may restrict or close accounts where: (a) fraudulent activity is suspected; (b) chargebacks occur; (c) abusive behaviour is displayed; (d) Terms are breached;
11.3 Participants are responsible for maintaining secure access to their accounts.
12. Prohibited Conduct
12.1 Participants must not: (a) attempt to manipulate draw outcomes; (b) create multiple accounts to bypass limits; (c) engage in fraudulent behaviour; (d) harass or abuse staff; (e) submit false information.
12.2 Breaches may result in disqualification, account closure, or legal action.
13. Intellectual Property
13.1 All content on the Website, including branding, images, and text, is owned by the Company;
13.2 Participants may not reproduce or distribute content without permission.
14. Liability
14.1 The Company is not liable for: (a) technical faults; (b) website downtime; (c) third‑party delays; (d) postal or courier issues; (e) Participant error;
14.2 Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
15. Data Protection
15.1 Personal data is processed in accordance with the Company’s Privacy Policy;
15.2 Identification documents are retained for no longer than six (6) months;
15.3 Participants may exercise their rights under UK GDPR as set out in the Privacy Policy.
16. Amendments
16.1 The Company may update these Terms at any time;
16.2 Updated versions will be published on the Website;
16.3 Participants are responsible for reviewing updated Terms.
17. Refunds & Cancellations
17.1 Entries are final and non‑refundable except where: (a) duplicate payments occur; (b) technical faults prevent entry allocation; (c) the Company cancels a Competition;
17.2 Refunds will only be issued to the original payment method. 17.3 Chargebacks may result in account closure and voided Entries.
18. Governing Law
18.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales;
18.2 Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
19. Dispute Resolution
19.1 Participants may raise concerns via the Company’s Complaints & Disputes Policy;
19.2 If unresolved, Participants may seek independent advice or contact relevant consumer‑protection bodies.

21. Credit Card Rules
21.1 The Company will not accept credit card payments in excess of £250 per calendar month per Participant (“the credit card limit”);
21.2 The Company will not accept any credit card payments for instant win prize draws under any circumstances;
21.3 The Company’s payment system prevents credit card transactions beyond these limits;
21.4 Participants who reach the credit card limit may continue to enter Competitions using alternative payment methods or the free postal entry route;
21.5 Any attempted credit card payments beyond the permitted limit will be automatically declined.
22. Player Protection
22.1 Participants may request: (a) voluntary account closure; (b) temporary self‑exclusion; (c) optional spend limits; (d) restrictions on payment methods;
22.2 Requests under 22.1 must be submitted via the Company’s Responsible Play page or by contacting the Company directly;
22.3 The Company may apply additional protective measures where: (a) excessive spending is identified; (b) concerning behaviour is observed; (c) compliance concerns arise;
22.4 Participants may access guidance on responsible play, spend management, and support resources via the Company’s Responsible Play page;
22.5 The Company reserves the right to restrict or close accounts where responsible play concerns are identified.
23. Third‑Party Compliance
23.1 The Company does not currently use third‑party operators for draw management or prize fulfilment;
23.2 Where the Company engages affiliate marketers, promotional partners, or suppliers, such third‑parties must comply with all relevant Code requirements;
23.3 The Company will take reasonable steps to ensure compliance by any third‑party supporting its prize draw operations;
23.4 The Company may terminate relationships with third‑parties who fail to comply with relevant Code requirements.
24. Transparency & Publication
24.1 All player protection, transparency, and accountability measures are clearly displayed on the Website;
24.2 This includes: (a) the draw process; (b) free entry route; (c) spend limits; (d) complaints process; (e) responsible play guidance; (f) charitable contribution information.

25. Charitable Contributions
25.1 The Company operates an annual charitable contribution scheme (“the Magpie Charity Pot”);
25.2 A portion of Company profits is allocated to the Magpie Charity Pot each calendar year;
25.3 Details of charitable contributions, including beneficiary organisations and donation dates, are published on the Website;
25.4 The Company may adjust contribution amounts or processes where necessary, and updated information will be displayed on the Website.
